Social and Fundraising

Social Group

MWCDG’s Social Group is responsible for organising the Mansfield Woodhouse Party in the Park on Yeoman Hill Park as well as the Christmas Event, held in Turner Hall, each year in June and December respectively.

Members of the community are encouraged to join and share their ideas to help keep events interesting and entertaining.

Crime and Safety

Community Action Forum (CAF)

CAF is an open public meeting held every six to eight weeks which gives residents the opportunity to highlight any issues / concerns in their area. The meeting is regularly attended by representatives from Nottinghamshire Police, Oakwood Surgery as well as District and County Councillors and Neighbourhood Watch Groups.

Residents are encouraged to be part of CAF – you are welcome to attend regular meetings or just as and when you feel you wish to contribute or raise a concern.

Social and Fundraising

Christmas Lights

Fundraising for new community lighting, sourcing a Christmas tree for the Market Place along with organising the Christmas Lights Switch-On in November is amongst the roles of the Christmas Lights Sub-Group.

A popular misconception amongst residents is that the Christmas Lights Switch-on is paid for and organised by MDC.  If it were not for the actions of MWCDG and our close community partners, Mansfield Woodhouse would not have a switch-on each year.

New members and sponsors are welcome and encouraged.

Community Newsletter

The Woodhouse Warbler

The Woodhouse Warbler is a quarterly newsletter created by MWCDG and delivered to over 9,000 homes in Mansfield Woodhouse. Members are responsible for receiving delivery of and sorting Warblers to distribute to volunteer deliverers. Deliverers are always needed, if you can help, please contact us.
